25% Amino Acid Protein Chelate Chromium Animal Feed Additive For Improving Production

Relieving stress is an important factor to consider in intensive and industrial farming. Animals are susceptible to stress due to herd changes, weaning, beak-breaking, immunization operations, and more. Adding a certain amount of organic chromium can improve the animal's endocrine system, effectively reducing the strain and promoting their natural growth.

Organic chromium can also boost immunity levels. It has been confirmed in studies and experiments that using the appropriate amount of organic chromium will improve not just animal growth but also feed intake and even shorten feed cycles. It is also said to increase production performance.

For example, adding inorganic chromium to the diet of fattening pigs can reduce fat thickness and increase lean meat percentage and carcass quality. Organic chromium was also found to improve reproductive performance when included in diets for chickens, ducks, cattle and sheep.

When adding organic chromium to the animal's diet, it is important to keep in mind that the typical dosage used in animal feed is between 0.2 to 1mg/kg and should not exceed that amount. Too much organic chromium can damage hemoglobin function, inhibit growth and damage liver and kidney. Furthermore, there is competition and antagonism between chromium and zinc and iron, so the amount of iron, zinc, copper and manganese should be lowered properly, to ensure the most effective use of organic chromium.

However, there is no interaction or antagonism between chromium and other additives and it in fact has a synergistic effect with antibiotics. For example, the addition of 200ppb organic chromium to the diets of producing finishing pigs can increase loin eye muscle area from 31.5cm2 to 38.4cm2, as well as raising the lean meat percentage from 52.3% to 55.7%.

Other studies also suggest that adding 0.2mg/kg of chromium to the sows' diets from growth until mating can gain an average of two piglets per litter when the second litter is produced. Adding 200ppb of organic chromium to the diet for chickens also increases laying rate (76.36%-77.56%) and hatching rate (78.0%-81.7%).
